The 1st conference of the Green Building Council Slovenia is a follow-up of recent activities of the national Green Building Council, representing in particular the beginning of an accelerated promotion of sustainability topics and themes and lessons learned.

Events already over, and especially those scheduled by professional associations and organisations for the future will introduce the relevant know-how and experience into our region. Unstable economic conditions, especially in construction and related industries, demand changes in customary practices such as preparation of investment projects, planning, completion and use of buildings.

We believe that adherence to sustainability criteria will upgrade customary working methods, and most of all, these topics represents a new challenge and a long-term objective for the economy and the education sector. It is of utmost importance to achieve sustainable development goals in order to substantially mitigate environmental impacts, reduce consumption of non-renewable energy sources and, most of all, improve home quality and homeowner comfort in residential buildings. The latter has scientifically established a positive impact on people’s health and enhanced their performance and efficiency in private and business environments.
